Suaimhneas Sessions: A Deep Rest Experience

About: Suaimhneas Sessions is a monthly restorative yoga and yoga Nidra class designed to support your nervous system in shifting from "fight or flight" into "rest and restore", taking place in the magical dome at Bective Mill, Co. Meath. This deeply nourishing session is designed to gently guide you out of "doing" mode and into profound rest. Through fully supported restorative postures, your body is invited to soften and unwind. From there, you'll be led into yoga Nidra - a guided meditation practice, where the nervous system settles, the mind quietens, and deep restoration becomes possible. Yoga Nidra has been shown to support nervous system regulation, improve sleep quality, reduce anxiety and enhance overall resilience to stress. No experience necessary, come as you are.

Frequency: Once per month, stand alone sessions, 1.5 hours in duration.

Location: The Dome, Bective Mill, Bective, Navan, Meath.

Upcoming Dates: 27th March, 19th April.

Cost: €20

What to expect in the Suaimhneas sessions:

  • a softly lit, warm space in the magical Dome, with room for you to create your own cosy "nest"
  • gentle background music for the restorative yoga section of the session, little or no music during the yoga Nidra meditation.
  • guidance through a small number of restorative postures, slow paced, all seated / lying down. All postures are supported by the use of props. We will remain in each posture for a longer period of time, to invite rest to the nervous system, but there is no need to remain completely still. The aim of the use of props is to enable a posture where your physical body can completely relax.
  • some vocal guidance from me during the pauses created by the restorative postures, and also some silence.
  • a final resting posture, using as many props as is preferred, for the yoga Nidra relaxation.
